I explored the seaport of Sinop today and bought souvenirs. In the afternoon I took a shuttle van from Sinop to coastal city of Samsun. It was about a five-hour ride and my driver didn't speak any English. I had a Turkish phase book and we managed to communicate somewhat. Somehow he got the impression that I wanted to sightsee, so he took the scenic route and stopped at a chicken farm, a fishing village, and a fish farm! The countryside of Turkey is actually very beautiful.

I checked in to the 'Otel Bayuk Samsun' around 8 pm. surprised that it is a very modern high-rise building.
