August 6- Day Five The experience I was not supposed to have! I had the luxury to sit in the lab and work on identifying the organisms in my tow samples. Ryan took almost 3 hours to assist me in identifying the different organisms and made sure I could make the identifications. He even gave me a book to assist with this task. Additionally, I was given a tour by the educational officer of the Florida Fish and Wildlife building, where I learned a lot more of what goes on with the research on brevis and how it affects life. When it was time to leave, I felt like I could stay on and do more research, but knew very well that I need to return with this information to my classes and bring the new wealth of information back to my students and hopefully invigorate one or more to embark on scientific research, perhaps in oceanography.
