August 26, 2004

It is extremely foggy today at 7:58am. I decide to get up early and give Allison a birthday gift. She is the main navigator for the McArthur II and she just turned twenty-six years old.

10:45. I am back in my room when Jessica, my roommate comes in. She suggests that we scrub and clean up our room for the next group of scientists who will be joining the crew.

I spend the next couple of hours cleaning and putting together a gift bag of items I decided to leave for the next group such as non-tip coffee cups, unused sock liners, thermos, quick dry towels, etc. I was then called to the deck to re-sight a humpback they lost. I couldn't find that one but I ended up sighting a new humpback whale.

Evening. We had a pizza party on the ship. Everyone got to help make his or her own pizza.
