How do you define a good teacher?

We will be home in a week. Everyone is looking forward to being back on land, especially the crewmembers that have been on board for the last 4 months.

It was an overcast and rainy day again. I spent the morning e-mailing my logs to Andrea and putting together a Power Point presentation of my trip. Since our research is repetitive, Dave makes it a point to share some aspect of science on the ship that I could share with my students. My "science assignment" today with Dave was to learn how to check the connector boxes on board. Dave is a very good teacher and simplifies complicated concepts and connects them to the science standards.

After changing the air and water filters, we got all the equipment ready for the 12 hour stop we are scheduled to make tomorrow. Eric assured us that the equipment was tested on the GSO dock and that it had worked fine before it was put on board.

Between being served 3 meals a day along with two substantial snacks we seem to eat all the time. Mike Brennan has my admiration for making this possible every single day.
