August 17, 2009 Well, today started out much like it ended yesterday. We used one gun and made plans for the parts and oil to be delivered out of Woods Hole. Dolphins were seen by the hundreds but they were far enough away from the ship so that we didn't have to stop operations. The seas were calm and the sky clear. Early this morning it was hard to tell where one began and the other left off. My watch times are scheduled as the backup from 12:00 noon - 4:00 and then primary from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. That just means that I have to be in the lab watching the monitors and listening in case the bridge or observers call down to us. The compressor stopped sometime after my watch but I was in bed and was not bothered by the lack of noise. |
