Journals 2005/2006Debra Slade-Redden
July 13, 2005 Everyone woke around 5 a.m. after a night of rain. It was overcast, cool, and extremely foggy. We did our first station with the TAPS, CTD, and towed the fish finder to the next station where this process was repeated and we cruised to another station. Visibility was extremely low. It was like sailing around and working in a heavy cloud. It was a very quiet, laid back day with none of the excitement of the night before. Each station looked the same as the one before because of the fog. We had finished our 4th station and were heading for port, a mere 33 miles away. We arrived at the dock around 5:30 and all headed home to a well-deserved shower and hot meal. |
