July 21, 2005 A night on the ocean quickly passed. By 5a.m. most of us were rustling about and eating breakfast. We started to work at about 6a.m. We did 3 stations before 8a.m. and then towed the fish finder along the crest of the bank.
Whale activity was sited by the plane so we moved to that spot and observed four humpbacks. They were not feeding but just moving from one place to another. The afternoon went quickly as we sampled many more stations, 12 total.
We headed for home around 2p.m. and arrived at the dock around 5p.m. After unloading and cleaning up the boat we headed home to shower and to meet Lew and several others for supper. |
