Farewell and Goodbyes

I will miss you all!

This is my last day at sea, the routine was about the same as always but my thoughts are on the friends that I have made on this ship. Once in awhile you are exposed to a handful of quality people but to be around 28 high quality people for 3 weeks is truly one of life's most precious gifts. Each person on the ship has had an impact on my life; this is a cruise that I do not want to end. I would like to say, I am a better person because each crew member and scientist shared a little bit of their life with me.

As the sun began to set and the crew assembled on the flying bridge my throat began to tighten, my eyes started to well up and as best I could tell each and every person how much I am going to miss them. Man, I'm 50 years old and I am feeling like a little boy that just got left behind. I will miss my new friends. I know that each of them has left a mark in my heart. My only hope is that our paths do cross again in this life.
