August 19, 2006 Lat: 12° 10.3' N That is what we're here for, after all! I don't know how she did it in those seas, but mammal people had just come back on effort as seas dropped to Beaufort 5, when Yin spotted dolphins: spotters and spinners. Ended up being a HUGE mixed school of them (my best guess would be about 400-500; that's top secret data they can't share with anyone!) We were able to get within about 100 meters; though none of them came to bow ride, they were less evasive than most have been. |
