It 's quite an inexplicable feeling to sight land for the first time in 27 days! This is my first trip to Hawaii, and it's just as beautiful as I had imagined. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for mammal sightings (light winds, calm seas, excellent visibility), and everyone felt quite sure we would be seeing many animals today, being in so close to shore. But alas it was not to be.
