Last Day in Antarctica

Realizing this will be my last day in Antarctica is sobering, but in all reality, I am ready to go home. The weather is so brutal down here. The wind chill is what is tough to deal with. You can always survive with enough clothes, but it is just not fun out there. Summer sunshine is what I have been longing for the last couple of days. I spend more energy bundling up for the cold than anything else I have done. Antarctica is cold, windy, and pretty dry. There is snow but I can't tell if it moves around with the wind or it actually snows. I guess I am whining and a little excited to get back to warmth.

We are all trying to guess the weather for the Drake crossing. We experienced a very mild crossing coming here, by the look of the weather pattern - folks it doesn't look good. The crossing may be a little rough, but all part of the adventure. I am still loving life and looking forward to leaving tomorrow.
