Second Piston Core Lost!

When I got up this morning I learned that during the night a second piston coring tool had been lost. Not sure what the problem has been but everyone is concerned. Samples were still collected using the other coring devices so lab activity in the morning hours was busy. This afternoon we had to secure everything. Heavy seas and gale force winds expected. Waves are already at 20+ feet and getting worse. Looks like "crab fishing" weather out there. I was advised that they will also be working on the internet tomorrow so e-mail service will be down for a while. Once more...Batten down the hatches!
