Caught Up!

All activity in the chemistry lab caught up so very little to do. Most of the day spent lounging around. Arrived on site 3 around noon. Location has a bottom with numerous mounds and valleys so considerable time will be taken to identify a likely site for coring. Coring should begin somewhere around 10:00pm. Benthos corer sent down first to check out the bottom and insure sediment. Came back up with about 5 meters of mud so multi-core was launched. Multi-core had cores of all mud, part mud and water, and all water when it came back up. Next the German lander went over. The lander is free floating and there was some worry as to whether it would return. Will find out tomorrow. It is midnight and I am going to bed. Plans are that during the night the gravity core will be sent down to collect further core samples so we may have activity in the lab tomorrow. Film taken: Close ups of the lander and benthos corer. Film clips of launching multi-core and lander.
